Consider Him Who Endured
"Consider him who endured such opposition from sinners, so that you will not grow weary and lose heart." — Hebrews 12:3
Weariness is a common companion in the Christian journey. Discouragement creeps in when trials persist, when the world pushes back, and when our own hearts falter. But Scripture gives us a powerful remedy: consider Jesus.
Jesus endured hostility from sinners throughout His ministry—mockery, betrayal, false accusations, and ultimately, the agony of the cross. He bore it all without sinning, without shrinking back, and without abandoning His mission. The writer of Hebrews urges us to fix our gaze on Christ, not only as our Savior but as our example.
When we feel weak, we remember His strength. When we are tempted to quit, we reflect on His perseverance. And when the road seems too long, we consider the One who walked it before us, carrying the weight of our sin.
This verse is a call to steadfast faith. It doesn’t promise an easy road, but it assures us that endurance is possible—because Jesus went before us. When we fix our minds on Him, we find renewed strength to press on, to resist sin, and to keep running the race.
Prayer Points:
Lord, help me to consider Christ daily when I feel weary or discouraged.
Strengthen my heart to endure opposition with grace and faith.
Remind me that Jesus endured far more, and He is with me always.
