Equipped for Every Good Work
“Now may the God of peace, who through the blood of the eternal covenant brought back from the dead our Lord Jesus, that great Shepherd of the sheep, equip you with everything good for doing his will, and may he work in us what is pleasing to him, through Jesus Christ, to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen.” — Hebrews 13:20-21
This beautiful benediction from Hebrews reminds us of both the source and the purpose of our Christian life. Our God is not only a God of might and justice, but a God of peace. He raised Jesus—the great Shepherd—from the dead through the eternal covenant sealed by His blood. That is the foundation of our confidence: a risen Shepherd who eternally leads His flock.
But it doesn’t stop there. This God of peace actively equips His people. He gives us everything we need—not for selfish gain, but to fulfill His will. He works in us what pleases Him, shaping our thoughts, desires, and actions so we can live lives that bring Him glory.
Are you feeling inadequate today? Remember, God never calls without equipping. As you walk in obedience, He supplies the strength, wisdom, and grace you need.
Prayer Points:
