God in Our Midst
"I will put my dwelling place among you, and I will not abhor you. I will walk among you and be your God, and you will be my people." — Leviticus 26:11-12
These verses are part of God's covenant promises to Israel, expressing His deep desire for fellowship with His people. The God who created the heavens does not remain distant. Instead, He promises to dwell among His people, to walk with them, and to make them His own.
In the Old Testament, this was realized through the Tabernacle, and later the Temple. But for believers today, this promise finds its ultimate fulfillment in Christ and the indwelling Holy Spirit. God no longer resides in tents or stone buildings—He lives in the hearts of His people.
What an incredible truth: the holy, infinite God desires relationship with us. He is not repelled by our weakness or limited by our failures. Through Christ, He draws near, calls us His own, and promises to never leave.
Life Application: In a world full of distractions and distance, remember that God's greatest desire is to dwell with you. Make space for Him daily—through prayer, worship, and obedience. You are His, and He walks with you.
