Grow in Grace and Knowledge
“Therefore, dear friends, since you have been forewarned, be on your guard so that you may not be carried away by the error of the lawless and fall from your secure position. But grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To Him be glory both now and forever! Amen.” – 2 Peter 3:17-18
Peter concludes his letter with a final warning and an encouragement. He urges believers to remain watchful, guarding themselves against false teachings and the influence of a sinful world. Faith is not passive—we must be diligent in standing firm in God’s truth.
But Peter doesn’t just warn; he also gives a command: grow in the grace and knowledge of Jesus Christ. Growth in grace means continually relying on God’s mercy, becoming more like Christ in character and love. Growth in knowledge means deepening our understanding of His Word and His will. Both are essential for a strong and unwavering faith.
As we grow, we glorify Christ, living lives that reflect His truth and love. Peter reminds us that all glory belongs to Jesus, both now and forever. Our purpose is to know Him, grow in Him, and bring Him praise.
