Kept by the Lord
"Yahweh will keep you from all evil. He will keep your soul. Yahweh will keep your going out and your coming in, from this time forward, and forever more." —Psalm 121:7–8
Psalm 121 is a song of confidence in God’s constant care. These closing verses emphasize one powerful truth again and again: the Lord keeps you.
To be “kept” by God means more than temporary protection—it means being watched over, guarded, and preserved by His faithful hand. This does not mean believers will never face trouble, but it does mean that nothing can ultimately harm or separate us from His care.
“He will keep your soul.” This is the deepest promise of all. Beyond physical safety or daily circumstances, God is guarding your very life—your eternal security in Him.
The psalm also speaks to every part of life: “your going out and your coming in.” Whether in daily routines, major decisions, or uncertain seasons, God’s watchful care never stops. And it is not temporary—“from this time forward, and forever more.”
His protection is constant, personal, and eternal.
