“Yes, my soul, find rest in God; my hope comes from Him. Truly He is my rock and my salvation; He is my fortress, I will not be shaken. My salvation and my honor depend on God; He is my mighty rock, my refuge.” – Psalm 62:5-7
In a world full of uncertainty, where do you place your trust? David, despite facing trials and opposition, declares that his rest, hope, and security come from God alone. He doesn’t look to people, wealth, or power—he finds refuge in the Lord, his rock and salvation.
A rock is firm, immovable, and unchanging. In contrast, life can feel unstable—jobs come and go, relationships change, and challenges arise. But God is constant. He is our fortress, our place of protection. When everything else shifts, He remains steady.
David says, I will not be shaken. This doesn’t mean he never faced trouble, but that his foundation was unshakable. When we anchor our faith in God, we, too, can stand firm in the midst of trials, knowing that He is our salvation and our refuge.
