Our Eternal King
"Now to the King eternal, immortal, invisible, the only God, be honor and glory for ever and ever. Amen." — 1 Timothy 1:17
In this powerful verse, the Apostle Paul bursts into praise as he reflects on the nature of God. Here, he acknowledges God's eternal kingship, His immortality, His invisibility, and His uniqueness. These attributes of God highlight His supremacy and the reverence He deserves.
Firstly, God is eternal. Unlike earthly kings who rise and fall, God's reign is unending. He was, is, and always will be. This should bring us immense comfort, knowing that we serve a King whose power and authority are everlasting.
Secondly, God is immortal. He is not subject to decay or death. In a world where everything ages and fades, God remains unchanged. This reminds us that our hope in Him is secure and unshakable.
Thirdly, God is invisible. While we cannot see Him with our physical eyes, His presence is profoundly real and active in our lives. Faith calls us to trust in the unseen reality of God's presence and work around us.
Lastly, God is unique. He is the only God, deserving all honor and glory. In a society filled with distractions and false idols, we must focus our worship solely on Him.
As we meditate on these truths, let us honor and glorify God in our daily lives. Live in the light of His eternal presence, trust in His unchanging nature, and dedicate your worship to the One true King.
