Unshakable Kingdom, Consuming Fire
"Therefore, since we are receiving a kingdom that cannot be shaken, let us be thankful, and so worship God acceptably with reverence and awe, for our ‘God is a consuming fire.’" — Hebrews 12:28-29
In a world full of instability and shifting values, Hebrews reminds us of a profound truth: the kingdom of God is unshakable. Earthly empires rise and fall. Economies waver. Even our personal plans can collapse in a moment. But God’s kingdom stands firm, eternal, and unmovable.
This truth should move our hearts to gratitude. Not a shallow thankfulness, but one that leads to genuine, reverent worship. We don’t serve a casual or passive deity. We serve a holy, consuming fire—one who purifies, refines, and judges. God's holiness demands our awe, not apathy.
Too often, worship becomes routine. But when we grasp that we belong to a kingdom untouched by chaos, and we stand before a God of blazing purity, it should stir our souls. Worship isn’t about what we get from God—it’s about giving Him the glory He is due with hearts that tremble in reverence and burn with love.
Let’s live each day mindful of the eternal kingdom we've received and the holy God we serve.
